Siostam (2022-2025)

Siostam, Scottish Gaelic for system, is an evolving series of computer programs that Macaulay has developed that uses logic and mathematical order to explore order, sequence rhythm and structured relationships. the first of these programs, Siostam I, used probability to decide the colors used in a given composition, and the placement of elements within generated image. The program was able to create a wide range of different combinations, and allowed the user to change properties to allow certain color combinations or composition structures to be generated more frequently than others, depending on the user preferences.
